Ford Mondeo at The America’s Cup

The world of sailing turned its attention to Valencia, Spain, in May 2007, with the start of the 32nd America’s Cup, and Ford, as one of the sponsors of the event, wanted to take full advantage with an action which would be both interactive and unique, coinciding with the launch of the new Ford Mondeo.

Ogilvy Action developed an installation based on a giant inflatable tent with a very cool and modern design within to greet the guests. To get in, the public answered an interactive questionnaire developed by ivista to determine their tastes. The digital questionnaires could be accessed on two stainless steel elliptical touch screen kiosks also designed and fabricated by ivista. Upon finishing the questionnaire, each person received a ticket from the kiosk to get in the Ford space.
Ford used a Bluetooth transmitter beamzone as a new channel of information for those attending the tent installed in the America's Cup in Valencia.

Once inside, every visitor received a seat in one of the hyper cool lounge chairs in the Oxygen Bar, where they enjoyed a special video of the new Ford Mondeo, projected on large rear projection, all the while inhaling the flavored oxygen that matched their profile from the questionnaire. ivista was in charge of the audio visual set up and maintenance throughout the event.

After the video presentation, the guests could take a look at the new Mondeo, as well as download a catalogue and gifs developed for the occasion by ivista. The whole set up was a great success in drawing crowds to the Ford space, and this was our first large scale project with Ogilvy Action for Ford, and the start of a great working relationship.
